I’ve had hudson since a 2yr old, my plan was to break him and take him out to comps but unfortunately due to health reasons/ injuries I haven’t been able to do this and he deserves more attention then he’s getting at the moment.
He’s been broken in and done a little bit of basics, walk, trot, canter. He’s still learning and trying to figure his legs out under saddle, needs more education/ work on the circle, finding his balance and holding his head as he sometimes doesn’t know what you’re asking for and can get frustrated so due to this he needs a calm, sensible and confident rider. More of a project pony at the moment and will excel with the right person, he’s a very quick learner and super smart. Hasn’t tried any dirt on me while riding, only does the occasional side kick with his right leg if he’s confused in what you’re asking or frustrated but nothing nasty. Can get a bit cheeky when he wants to be ( typical welsh attitude ) although have done a lot of ground work with him so he knows how to move his hinds/ fronts on command and switch on the lunge, he will also come to a full stop by raising your hand. Lives off hay and grass super easy pony to keep, up to date with worming, teeth and we have a farrier out regularly for feet. ( has the best hooves ever )
Happy to free lease if you you’re happy to get insurance for him before he leaves our property and will be under a signed contract. No kids ( unless super confident and experienced with young horses ) no nervous or overly heavy riders. I really want him to go to someone who will be patient with him and further his education slowly and not rush him. I’d also be happy for him to go somewhere he is just going to be loved and get attention as he’s getting super bored in the paddock. Knowledgeable caring home is an absolute must, I’m in no rush at all and don’t really want to do this but just doing what’s best for him with my situation. Will come with rugs, halter/ lead and can come with bridle as well.
