Description
Competitive one star Eventer looking for his new person. Cayne was purchased in October last year with the intention of competing him this season & selling him on.
He is now ready for his new home!! He would be suited to a competent teen, amateur rider or professional wanting a nice horse to take on the grades.
Cayne spent the first part of his eventing career with a competent adult rider who competed him successfully at 65cm & 80cm eventing. Since I have purchased him he has had a very successful season with some results listed below from this season
– Brigadoon CCN 1 star 2nd with a sub 30 dressage score & double clear jumping
– Dryandra CCN 1 star 4th, double clear jumping
– Gidgegannup CCN 1 Star 3rd, double clear jumping
– Wooroloo CCN 1 star Long 6th, one of only 3 horses to go clear under time xc in torrential rain
More results can be found on the EA website under his name.
He has also competed at a number of showjumping shows jumping well up to 1.15m.
Cayne has a real look at me factor with the dressage judges wanting to give him marks. I believe he has a lot more to give in this phase & is capable of getting super scores consistently as he gets stronger & more confident. He moves well & is comfortable to ride, and despite his height he doesn’t feel like a big horse under saddle. He is a careful jumper & is bold & straight forward to ride cross country.
Like most TBs, he can get a little hot at times when he is out, and he can be a little bit spooky, but he has no dirt in him. He is the type of horse that really feeds off his riders confidence, so if his riders is calm & confident, he is the same.
He is easy to do 99% of things with at home & out, good for the farrier, ties up, good in the paddock/stables, good to rug, well behaved on the truck and will tie to the truck when out. He isn’t fond of been clipped (will tolerate if given some sedation) & can at times been funny about his ears been touched but this is much much better since I have had him. Again, he has absolutely no dirt in him on the ground & simply wants to please his human.
I believe this horse has the talent & scope to continue to go up the grades in eventing, and would be suited to a competent teenager, amateur or professional rider wanting their next star level horse. He would also make a super interschools horse & there is no reason why he couldn’t go back to been an adult rider mount for the right person.
He was vet checked when I bought him last year and had a good vet check that I am happy to share. He has some significant scars on his back legs from getting caught in a fence before I got him but my vet was happy that they are superficial & I haven’t had any soundness issues since owning him.
No trials but I’m happy to take him places for him to be ridden (within reason)
