Description
Sargeant Spinabuc (rego pending), affectionately known as River.
Approximately 15hh QH Perlino 5yo Gelding bred over east and brought to WA last year.
Dam: Miss Spicy War Cutter (Q-58352)
Sire: Colonel Spinabuc (Q-58631)
Awesome breeding with some big names. (Docs Spinfex, Cuttabar, Colonels Gold, Mr San Peppy).
He has 3 soft paces and covers ground amazing. Rocking horse canter with a big stop. Has the buttons installed but needs reminding sometimes. Can get a bit dull and lazy so needs someone to keep him sharp.
Soft but sensitive mouth and a soft natural head carriage. Ride on the buckle or with contact.
Quiet 5 year old. Would trust my kids on him riding solo. Has done some small cattle musters, beach trips, plenty of bush rides and he does have extensive professional training under his belt. Has had total beginners riding him and he’s an angel. We recently completed a 2 day campdraft clinic with Heidi Smith. Worked the flag for the first time. Personally I don’t think he’ll be your next campdraft champ despite his breeding. I think he would be best suited to a junior rider once balanced a bit better.
Awesome to shoe, wash, hard ties, well travelled across the country, good ground manners etc. good feet, only fully shod up here due to the extra rough country. Can be a turd to catch sometimes though 8/10 times will meet you at the gate, gets bored in a small paddock.
Good to ride out alone or with others. Good to pony and pony off.
He was purchased for myself to bring along this time last year though life had changed and with the addition of a bub, change of work hours and a self run business he’s getting way to bored in the paddock.
I cannot give him the consistency he needs and he’s just not far enough along that I’d like.
He is still green, lanky and learning to move his feet. He is such a funny boy and shattered I’m making the decision to part with him. He truely is my future dream horse. Just wrong timing.
Genuine sale and all questions answered with 100% honesty. I don’t want him ending up in the wrong hands. Currently out of full time work and running in bush paddock.
