16.2hh gelding born in 2016, by Rangeview Landstrom (WB) out of Sax in the City (TB).
I have had Louie since he was 2 weeks old and he spent the first several years of his life being exposed to a farm life. He’s lived with pigs, sheep, and a few cows over his time and always been surrounded by dogs from Jack Russel to Mastif sizes. He has since been at a few different agistment properties, sometimes sharing a paddock with other horses and other times in his own. He has always settled in well and won the hearts of the people and horses around him.
Louie has a beautiful temperament, he has always been the first to greet you in the paddock and loves cuddles and attention. He tries to please and is a quiet ride, definitely more on the lazy side. He enjoys trial rides, on his own or in company and with consistent work has the potential to become a very versatile and competitive horse. Although if he is not ridden for a few days or weeks, you can still jump on him and enjoy a nice quiet ride.
Louie has had limited exposure to competitions, with only a couple of Hack Days and a dressage day under his belt, but has always turned heads during these outings for good reasons. His first and only dressage tests scoring above 70%. He has 3 very comfortable paces and is great for the farrier and floats well although he is a big horse and finds standard sized horse floats a bit of a squeeze. He has been over jumps (~70cm) during a lesson with Les and out on cross country and seems to enjoy it.
Louie loves the beach and being in the water, and would often take himself into the dam as a young horse to splash around.
Louie is the perfect horse for someone who wants a matured horse that hasn’t been over exposed or had bad experiences to rectify. They will have get the chance to have a horse with well established basics and a sensible and friendly nature that they can imprint their own style into.
Louie does have a scar on his offside hind leg, but has never been lame on it.
This is a sad sale, one I have contemplated but never been able to go through with in the past. My circumstances have drastically changed which I’m happy to discuss with anyone interested.
