Touchstone Rooster ⭐️🦄

Rooster is a 15.3hh stockhorse gelding and is 12 years old. I have had Rooster for two years, he has attended pony club and a few showjumping events with me, and has been out eventing and to many other shows with his previous owners earning countless ribbons, wins and championships. He is good to take out although he can get quite tense around loud noises so needs confidence from his rider. He is a delight to have around, gets on well with other horses, is great for the farrier, dentist and he is barefoot with great feet. He is good to float and go on trails alone or with company. He doesn’t have any medical issues and has a pretty simple feed twice a day as well as either meadow or oaten hay at all times. He loves his treats and will immediately start smiling if he catches you with a carrot.

Rooster has also worked with cows with his previous owner and wasn’t fazed by them so believe he would also suit someone experienced in camp drafting. 

Roo has jumped up to 90cm with me and could definitely go higher. He has a lovely jump and doesn’t get strong when coming into a fence, but he needs his rider to give him confidence or he may back off. As soon as you give him that confidence he will jump his heart out. He goes nicely on the flat and can pull off a very good dressage test if relaxed. He has also done polo cross, vaulting, barrel racing and mounted games with previous owners. He needs to be ridden consistently (4+ times a week) to get the best out of him. 

Rooster would be best suited to an adult rider or a confident and experienced older teen. Absolutely no beginners/novice riders. He gets his confidence from his rider and can get nervous and spooky if not handled properly. He is a sensitive boy and may throw in a buck if you haul on the reins! This is a heartbreaking sale that I have put off for a long time and I will be extremely picky about who he goes to. I want him to go to someone that has more time for him than I have to get the best out of him. Vet checks welcome.
