Shady’s foundations in Western training are; basic western pleasure, intro reining, hunter under saddle, loads of clinics and lessons throughout the last few years. He’s been ridden on the farm/trail. No cattle work that I am aware of.
He is very light and responsive with leg aids and a lovely soft mouth. Can be ridden bitless if preferred. He is beautiful to ride, smooth and very comfortable gaits.
He was originally broken in and trained by a very reputable experienced horseman and had an excellent start to his ridden career.
Shady and I have been going to a few different clinics; intro western pleasure, trail, working equitation, western & pole dressage which he seems to really be enjoying. Has got some lovely elevation in his movement and we’ve discovered he can cover some ground when encouraged to move forward.
He had 3 weeks with Elise Young when I first got him then another 3 for some more refinement in Nov 24. Elise did some amazing work with him in that short time.
He loves to be out and about at comps and clinics and is a pretty cool kid.
Would ideally suit Amateur (or Novice Am) wanting to do Ranch Riding, western dressage or general pleasure riding, AR etc.
He has great feet and is currently bare foot. Good for farrier, travels well on float, not a fan of worming but there is a knack to it that makes it easier.
Only interested to sell to an experienced horse home, he is quiet but still smart enough to know if you are knowledgeable or not.
He profits on being in work as tends to have a bit of a lazy work ethic.
He is a joy to own, loves attention and is very affectionate. Easy no fuss geld, does get bullied & can buddy up so easier to keep him on his own.
