⭐️ Paddy’s Lad ⭐️

Paddy was taken OTT by one of the part owners. He was then given a few months to spell before coming here for retraining.

Playing God out of Countess of Tibia - Playing God was awarded 2024 WA SIRE OF THE YEAR for both on and off the track progeny. 

He can start tense at the beginning of the ride but he relaxes well when ridden patiently. He is able to hold a consistent contact in walk, trot and canter, has established canter leads and a really nice soft balanced and rhythmical canter.

He is good to take out into big open spaces by himself or with other horses and is not spooked by general farm life such as tractors and cows. In general he seems to be very calm and tolerant of spooky things. He is also good to float or truck and happy in new environments. Good to shoe (currently has fronts on),  float and worm. I have not needed to clip him.

Over jumps he is bold and brave, his ride-ability still needs to improve on the flat but shows round and correct shape over fences. 

He likes to go swimming in the dam in his paddock and was happy going through puddles when he came here so I can't see water jumps being a problem. I can also see him loving trips to the beach.

He does windsuck but this does not affect his appetite, health or weight and can be managed with a collar. 

Currently paddocked in a herd but can also be left alone in paddock and cross ties. 

His knees let him down on the track but vets have said that this was only a concern due to the high intensity gallop work that racing requires. 

Whilst he has been given a good start to his post racing education he is still a young green thoroughbred and thus not suitable for beginners or nervous riders. His ideal home would be an adult or older teen who wants an all rounder/eventer/jumper who is quiet, as well as being bold over jumps. He would benefit from someone who has experience with young thoroughbreds. 

He has not reared, bucked or bolted.
