Description
Red Chestnut Mare.
Location Bullsbrook (Tonkin hwy side)
Savvy is my dearly loved mare but I’ve had to make a tough decision.
However I will not just give her to anyone so I’m happy to wait for that right person.
Please read my add and only message if you have understood Savvy’s needs and want to discuss further.
Savvy is STIRICTLY NOT BREEDING. She has been pregnant once, was accident and she prematurely aborted twin foals. She did not do well afterwards and took her long time to recover physically and mentally.
She is doing very well now but not without a lot of support.
Savvy doesn’t like to be paddocked on her own. She is a well-behaved dominant herd mare. She is a sweet strong-minded lady who loves her horsey friends.
She needs her space, to run and feel the wind in her mane.
Her ideal is minimum 1arce paddock with at least 1 or more buddies (preferably more).
Currently she’s in huge paddock with about 10 horses. She runs a good tight herd, keeps the naughty horses from annoying the farrier and chewing on the quad bike.
There’re no nasty horses in the herd as everyone who moves in gets a speaking to about who’s boss and how to behave 😉
She isn’t nasty just very obvious warning look, and everyone just moves for her.
Savvy is a blank canvas.
I bought her 5yrs ago. She was bred to race but only made to trials.
Lucky for her, she wasn’t good at it! 🙂
Her Sire is McFlirt. Apparently, was an amazing stallion!
Over the years, besides the foaling hiccup, she has lived a cruisey life on my friends’ agistment property.
I did have grand plans on getting further with her training, but life has gotten in the way.
She has good basic ground manners with a willingness to learn.
When I was riding her, which sadly was over a year ago, she was coming along nicely under saddle, but much work on focus is needed. A typical teenager was distracted by friends in the paddock but when she is focused she is such a clever girl.
Savvy has heaps of quality gear.
She has been a spoilt girl, Isabel Dressage Cair, bunch stunning EQ Stockholm pads, bridle, rope halters, boots, rugs for every season and type…..like seriously I’ve had horses for years I got plenty for you to purchase from. These are extra on top of the negotiated price on Savvy.
What will Savvy become? Whatever you want her to be. She loves attention, and with time, patience, and good knowledge of horses, Savvy will be your horse for adult riders, dressage, and pleasure horse to enjoy the beautiful Aussie trails with your friends
Everything I have asked of her, with gentle hand she has soften to my teachings.
In the all the various clinics and instructors, we have attended, she has done so well, always improving no matter the time between training, if anything, breaks did her well so respect her need for little holidays.
I would be so happy to find someone who is wanting to make Savvy happy, not just buy a horse to make them happy.
I can tell you now if that’s your thought you be calling me up and asking me what happened to the mare you bought.
You listen to her needs, and you will develop a bond with you like you never know.
Trust me, she has taught me more in our time than I learnt in all my horse years.
Regarding her health, vaccinations up to date, regularly trimmed, no health concerns.
Slight parrot mouth but dentist happy with everything.
Savvy is barefoot. Feet need a bit extra care as she is lower on her heels but with some recent changes to trimming routine has shown more growth so were on a good thing. Shoes have been tried but weren’t necessary to retain due to amazing grounds we are on.
Savvy fee is only to have serious people looking at her add, not low life’s looking for breeder.
Price negotiable, not her home.
