Super Show Jumping Pony

$6,500

Description

Applewood Tia Maria – Welsh x Riding Pony
(Meilland Troubadour x Karma Park Mint)
Foaled 11/2007
Officially measured 13.2 & 1/4hh.
She’s small but she carries taller riders well with her width, so please don’t let her height turn you off.
Tia is our show jumping queen!
She’s a fast pony and can motor in a jump off!
Tia can go around tracks at a steadier pace and will come down for her rider, it just takes time for a relationship to be established.
In the time we’ve had her we’ve stuck to jumping up to 80cm rounds but she competed with her previous rider at 90cm.
She recently competed at the PCWA State Champs in the Team Challenge and jumped a 90cm jump off round with ease.
She is a very competitive show jumper and will jump on an angle for that edge in a jump off, turn on a dime and make every allowance for her rider, all she asks for is her rider’s leg when the jumps get bigger. She is a very honest jumping pony and the perfect step-up before a rider moves onto a big horse.
In the time we have had Tia my son’s focus was show jumping. She has attended Pony Club for a couple of years and competed in Hickstead’s and Jump-X, both of which she enjoyed.
Tia is not a pony who loves dressage, she goes around well in flatwork once a relationship has been established with her rider, but if your interest is in dressage, this is not the pony for you. She is also a forward moving pony, not one that you have to kick, kick, kick to move.
Tia has camped away for days at a time with no hassle, she loves road walks, bush rides and walks down to the estuary. She raced at Quindanning picnic races a couple of years back and had fun barrel racing and participating in the novelties. You can pony her off horses as well as pony horses off of her and she doesn’t care about anything they do. She’s galloped along-side kangaroos in the bush and jumped all the logs she’s been faced to.
Some of Jax & Tia’s highlights last year were her wins in the indoor arena at PCWA State champs in the open 70cm AM7 and the sub-junior 80cm AM7. They competed in the 6 bar and jumped 1.25m. They were selected as members of the sub-junior SJ WA team and competed at PCA Nationals.
This year they have competed at multiple show jumping events, including PCWA State Champs and have come away with ribbons at every event.
My son and Tia have the most amazing relationship and every time he rides her they look better and better, but the boy is growing at a ridiculous rate and her little legs aren’t. Tia is suited to rider who isn’t afraid of a fast pony and a rider who won’t over analyse her, she works well with a rider who has a soft hand and someone who doesn’t mind a head flick here and there!

A show jumping home will suit her best, but she would also make a super farm pony as nothing fazes her.
Tia will come with all of her gear including saddle, bridle, rugs and SJ boots.
It breaks my heart selling this pony, we’ve been on the most amazing journey! She will only be sold to a loving home.
Located Herron (30 mins south of Mandurah town).
